Bio: I am Delas J. Lancelin II.; the second child to Delas and Ellaruth Lancelin. I have a twin sister, Devin Lancelin. Since I was 4 or 5 years of age; my parents made it possible for me to play intramural sports in various leagues around town. Football being my favorite, but I also played Baseball and tried Basketball. I knew I was on to something when at the age of five; I posed in a picture as a Heisman Trophy Winner. I knew then I had set goals for myself to achieve such high honors. I currently attend Willowridge High School, Houston, Texas (District 23-5A; Fort Bend ISD) where I have excelled in both academics and athletics. My current GPA is 3.45 and currently ranked in my Junior Year as #15 out of 323 students. Freshman year at Willowridge – I was given the opportunity to be one of the Captains of the Freshman Football Team where I played Middle Linebacker and specials teams Long Snapper. Prior to the season ending; I was given the opportunity to be on the Varsity Squad as the Long Snapper and eventually moving up to more playing time as a Middle Linebacker. I also played on the Varsity Baseball as 3rd Baseman and Left Outfielder for 3-straight years. Sophomore year, I worked hard and received a starting spot as the Middle Linebacker, out working the starting junior Middle Linebacker. At the end of my sophomore year I ended with 81 tackles; 57 solo. Not only working hard on the field I also worked hard outside of school. I spend many Saturdays volunteering at the Texas Children’s Hospital talking and joking with kids trying to brighten up their day. Junior year, football season, I answered the call to be the team captain and defensive team captain. At the end of my junior season we finished fourth in defense despite a losing record of 0-8. Even though we weren’t successful on the field, I won the battle in the classroom; where I received an academic excellence award for maintaining a 3.0 or higher my sophomore and beginning of my junior year. At home and with myself, I am stressed about being a good student-athlete. My high standards morally and physically, help me to succeed in everything I do.
