Bio: I'm James, a highly motivated, hard working, dedicated student-athlete. I've been playing basketball since I was 4 and I love the game! I am very good at several sports. (For many years I played football and two years ago, I began to play volleyball for my school.) But, basketball is my passion. I also truly enjoy school. I am an excellent student who is not afraid to take on the most challenging or difficult subject. In the summer of 2007, I was selected to represent my high school at an honors Engineering program at UC Berkeley. The following year, I was chosen to be one of 30 high school students to participate in a 13-week Engineering honors program at UCLA. Even though my summer commitment at UCLA meant that I had to miss the AAU travel season last year, I have no regrets. I pushed myself farther than I ever thought possible, and accomplished a great deal. My achievements have not come easy. As a young child, I overcame a medical condition that affected my motor coordination and what doctors thought would lead to learning difficulties. I proved everyone wrong on all accounts, excelling in the classroom and in many sports. I have learned that so long as you have faith, determination and a hard work ethic, you can accomplish anything. These principles define who I am. This is what makes me so valuable to any college program - - I have great talent and I have HEART !
